Latest News on Lynette Fromme...
Well, not the latest because CBS found her in 2010 or so, but this has a couple of more details. As the crow flies this is just about 50 or so miles from where I live in the woods....

Isnt "radar online" basically the online National Enquirer? That article is funny because they try to paint Squeeky and her boyfriend or husband, whatever he is, as the "creepy" ones yet theyre the ones calling them and following them around and also "interviewing" people in the small town about them, to me it looks like Squeeky and her guy just want to be left alone

If Squeaky doesn't like notoriety, she shouldn't have been such a fervent follower of Manson. You get what you sow. Or my fav proverb: "If you sleep with pigs, you wake up in the mud".
Being that this is an article by "Radar Online", one would expect it to be sensationalized... and that's exactly what we get here.
The article describes Squeaky as "hiding-out" in upstate NY.
It seems to me, she's just living there.
I mean... she has to live somewhere.
What indicates that's she's "hiding"?
Heck... one of the photos is taken in a public doctor's office.
That doesn't seem like "hiding" to me.
And anyway, doesn't she have a right to avail herself of medical care without being harassed?
When "Radar Online" phoned her, she simply said "tell them no thanks".
That seems pretty polite to me.
When a creepy guy approached her with "heaven or hell" pamphlets at the public doctor's office, she simply said "No Thank You".
Again... that seems pretty polite to me.
The only thing that seems "untoward" to me, is the fact that her "significant other" is yet another criminal.
Will she ever get her fill of associating with criminals???

It says Valdner was found guilty of manslaughter in the shooting death of his brother-in-law (1989), and served 3 years.
Are we to assume this was a hunting accident?
Maybe Dilligaf will come by, and explain to us what "Manslaughter" suggests (in legal terms)...
I'm not a lawyer, buy I believe "Manslaughter" means that the death was not "premeditated" or intentional... but instead, involved negligence.

Katie is there a minimum that people get who have never worked for money such as a housewife? Maybe she qualifies for that. This really isn't news, I read online years ago, after she'd been out about a year, that she lived outside of Marcy New York, had a boyfriend who was also an ex-con, and they lived in a Quonset Hut. When she was first released she was released to her sister who lived in upstate New York and is/was a writer.
Thanks Beauders. I would think it would be hard to live on a minimum (don't know how much that is) but maybe the state of NY offers money to older folks who don't have any money. Lord she's older than me. How does she keep hooking up with men?
Hey Starship, this reminds me of that movie Martha Marcy May Marlene.
I wrote to Fromme for a while and she was very intelligent, kind of a thinking person, she would have made a great college professor. Too bad she got together with Manson and the Family. Does anyone know is she still a believer in Manson? We never spoke of Manson, we mainly talked about the Bravin book and my older brothers death. She was actually quite kind.

Because of different jurisdictions, the elements of manslaughter can vary. However, that being said, there is both voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. Involuntary manslaughter is the unintentional death of another persom as a result of negligence, reckless behavior, or some . criminal activity. Voluntary manslaughter is the act of killing another that could be considered murder, except for the existence of provocation, think bar room fight, etc. Remember, you cannot have manslaughter without laughter. Sorry, am old prosecutor’s joke..
The length of sentence could be the result of a plea bargain, or other mitigating factors. The deceased may have been complicit in his own demise, a lot of unknown variables here.

I never said anything about her regretting meeting Manson I would assume she doesn’t. I think spending a good chunk of your life in prison must suck and that she does regret that and that most likely never would have happened if she had not met Manson.

I understand what you are saying, but I am not sure that she does regret it. There are some people who so firmly believe in their cause that any suffering, or consequences, are just the price for being where they are today. I believe that she does want to be left alone, and frankly, I don’t blame her for that. While I have never served time, nor threatened the President, there are some things that I have done in my younger years that I wish had not happened. However, I have learned from some mistakes and never engage in wishing I had done things differently, for I am pretty happy at where I am in life, and if I had done things differently, I would not be where I am, or who I am, today. It’s all perspective, I guess...

I agree with that. We sometimes have a tendency to look at some of these things specifically from our viewpoint and because we wouldn't have wanted to spend most of our life in jail, we might assume everybody would be the same. I went through 4 awful years between the ages of 14 and 18 but even by the age of 19, I was telling people I wouldn't have missed it for the world. To this day, those 4 years were defining ones in my life, even though I didn't like them or would want to repeat them.
Off the top of my head I can't recall if she says so in her book, but I'm not at all sure Dianne Lake would even say she regrets that period or if Paul Watkins would have if he were still alive.

It would make for an interesting debate, an event or period of history that was beneficial for some while being pretty lousy for others in the same group.

If she regrets ever meeting Manson, she's had YEARS to explain her situation and her feelings to the world. She's had multiple outlets. But she hasn't done it.
That tells me that she doesn't care about setting the record straight and she's still covering for Manson, whatever that means. I don't think she really knows anything for a fact, but she's still bamboozled by this guy after all these years.
I just wish she would be truthful for a change instead of just ignoring the obvious!

I don't think Squeaky knows anything about the murders. What I'd like to know is how she feels about the whole thing. Was she shocked and saddened by these people getting killed, especially her friend Gary? Or did she even think twice about it? How did she feel about the Willetts getting killed? Did she think trying to shoot the President was worth it? Does she regret any of it? Is she glad Manson found her crying that day or does she wish she had been riding a bicycle that day instead? Did Manson beat those girls like Gypsy & Lake have said or is that just made up like others have said?
There's a lot of things she could comment on and never has that I know of.

For some reason, you don't seem to want to understand that it is a lot more nuanced than that and that Charles Manson is the key to that nuance. You seem to feel it's either/or and as a result, you simply refuse to see how human beings operate in some spheres.
I hope she writes an autobiography, but she better get to it, how old Fromme now?
Beauders, I think she's probably 8 or 9 years older than me, which means she's in her 70's.
I looked it up, Fromme was born on October 22, 1948 and is 69 years old. Like I said she needs to write her autobiography soon. I don't think she would have a hard time getting it published, unlike the rest of us.

I think it would be really boring if the segments from her unpublished manuscripts that are in George Stimson's book are anything to go by.
Boring in the sense that she'd never give us what we want. She's a wonderfully descriptive writer and if she were a musician she'd write fantastically introspective songs with fairly inscrutable lyrics. But it wouldn't spoil one's enjoyment because even if you couldn't grab the words, you'd have the music. Books aren't like that. She's very much her own person in terms of writing so it wouldn't be like a Dianne Lake or Paul Watkins.
I'm ok with her not being like Lake or Watkins. We corresponded for a while and I thought her writing ability was fine and we had pretty good talks about multiple subjects. Maybe her writing style improved with age.

Lynette also befriended the late Phil Hartman in her high school drama class who of course went on to fame in Saturday Night Live and was killed by his wife in a murder/ suicide

If Sanders is correct about Clem talking Squeaky out of publishing her book because it was too incriminating, I wonder if with the passage of time and the death of Manson, that concern has faded, and she’d be more willing. I know I’d buy her book if it would actually give us something new and I had reasonable trust in its accuracy.
I ordered her book yesterday morning. I'm looking forward to reading it.
I'm buying the book simply because it's her.
I recently read Mike Nesmith's autobiography, "Infinite Tuesday", and it was, to coin a phrase, different. Whereas Davy Jones and Micky Dolenz in theirs go into a lot of details about the Monkees from start to finish, Nesmith barely says a thing about those days in a traditional autobiographical sense. But the first 150 or so pages are brilliant even if the second half of the book really drags.
With Squeaky, it would be foolhardy to expect something that sits with the flavour of a TLB blog. But for background information, I reckon it'll be useful, as long as it's accessible.
I have read about half of the book and am finding it well written and very informative. It reads like a classic love story. I don't know if she takes Manson to task for treating women like garbage or the murders, and I am hoping she does, but her love for him is extremely deep.
I'm going to assume she probably has some disability with her advanced age. So I'm betting she probably gets SSI. Actually she'd be a shoe in for a mental defect based disability with her past
