Ed Sanders Live at Burchfield Penney Art Center January 12, 2013
This video has a little of everything for the Ed Sanders fan. Poetry readings, sing-songs, sociology and Ginsberg....
What was of interest to me however, was the last paragraph in the description of this video:
"Two of his books, 'The Family' and 'Tales of Beatnik Glory' are under option to be made into movies."
I checked Imdb and found a title in development- "The Family" scheduled for 2014 but you need Imdb Pro to get any information, of which I am not a member. So I have no idea if this is related or not..if someone else has access, we would appreciate any info.

Thanks Kimchi!
This is a guy i'd love to sit in a room with and discuss this case....bet theres alot of interesting stuff that didn't make it into his book.
I've heard better banjo players.
hey Lynyrd, sorry to sidetrack, but I miss Katie. I never made it to her blog, can you post the address again.
AND Carol, gave you give us an update on how Guinn's book is selling.
Is it just me or have we lost allot of the women from this site? We need to get Bobby to throw some of his charm around and get em back.
He looks like Jerry Garica and Albert Einsteins third brother...
:)
Awhile ago I ordered a replica poster from Zane Keseys website advertising one of the Acid Tests and among the Dead and Cassady, and of course the Pranksters, it lists the Fugs as one of the "happeners"...
Who knew Sanders partied with those type dudes in his day??
Ginsburg and Cassady- people who passed the torch from the beats to the hippies. For sure some brilliant times to be hanging around lol
For sure he has some tales to tell about many things relevant to those times.
Here Leary Maybe I'll help bring back the girls...

I couldn't agree more, LOL :-)
Hi Cassady!
Bobby said:
"Kimchi, Thanks for the post, I would like to be a FUG fan but he is a bit over my head."
Bobby, it's over my head too!
Hey Bobby/Kimchi :)

my cat of 15 years just passed away so I got this new puppie and have decided to go with it for awhile..
I was a shitty Saint lol

"He looks like Jerry Garcia and Albert Einsteins third brother..."
LMFAO!!!
HE DOES!!!
That hair is definitely 100% Albert Einstein. LOL
That was freakin' hilarious Saint.
That's the best joke, I've heard in a while.
I needed a good laugh.
Thanks!
Sorry to hear about your dog Saint.
My sympathies.
I'm here, I just didn't post anything because I've only read parts of Sanders book and Vimeo vids won't play in my browser, never have been able to figure out why.
Leary, on September 8th, Guinn's book was No. 12 on the NYT Best Sellers (Non-fiction)...

St. C(assady) - sorry about your kitty - the emotional pain is like losing one of the family...Kimchi is actually my kitty's name, but she is still with me :-)
Bobby/Sunset -
The main reason I posted this was because of the narrative below the video - about a movie deal in the works...(I did manage to sit through the 52 min of ahem, "readings")
Sunset, you didn't miss anything (IMO).... you're good at Imdb, maybe you can find something about a movie based on "The Family"....
I just found all my answers regarding the movie "The Family"...
It's actually old news, LOL.. Ryan Kwanten has been cast as Charlie...
Shooting was scheduled to start in the summer...

Damn Kimchi....12th! That astounds me. I never thought it would break the top 50.
But then what other criminal has Charlie's charisma and nutiness.
I just personally thought the book was intensely disappointing.
Leary, here you go:
MANSON: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF CHARLES MANSON by Jeff Guinn
#6 - Biographies, specifically Crime and Criminals
#8 - Biographies, specifically Serial Killers
#11 - Politics and Social Sciences, specifically Criminology
#1,386 - All Books
Hi Saint.
I thought you said, that you had lost your dog after 15 years... and replaced it with another.
I see now, that you lost your cat.
It was an honest mix-up.
My bad.
Sorry about your cat.
CAROL!!
I did look into the film "The Family" directed by Scott Kosar. There are a number of stories about it online, unfortunately, nearly all of them are dated around Oct. 29, 2010. One of them can be found HERE.
Another story about the film dated Oct. 31, 2010 says it will shoot "next year". It can be found HERE.
If or when that movie is ever going to be a reality, I don't know.
No worries L/S- I can be hard to keep up with these days lol
:)
Thanks Bobby and Sunset (re the movie)....
I have a feeling it's the one hidden behind Imdb Pro that they won't let you see...LOL it's due for release in 2014...
Wow Carol, impressive numbers...
Simon and Shuster went all out for it...lots of media, etc....
What happened to Jeffrey Jeff? He used to post here occasionally...
I saw a "J Guinn" on Brian's page late at night a few times too....
Then poof! Gone with the wind...
You guys around? Stop in and say "Hey"...
