Does anyone think Guinn read these type blogs? He doesn't mention them and I don't think he will.

I saw Guinn on a Wild West show about the shootout in Tombstone. I think it was History Channel. I am a wild west buff and have read hundreds of books on the old West Guinn did a nice job of sticking to the facts in his book "The Last Gunfight". I get upset with writers who sling hash about Western heroes. Guinn did a nice job on the cowboy era.

Thanx for the post, interesting interview. I have to say I'm somewhat skeptical of Krenwinkel's version of events at the Tate house, particularly as there is no corroborating evidence.

I might have to schedule a trip to McMechen WV before winter and it gets to cold. I just put fresh plugs in the Triumph yesterday morning. I don't know if I'll make it, but I could zip out there and back in a day, it's apparently only 12 minutes north of Moundsville.

Krenwinkle didn't go in the guesthouse because she may have met up with more than she could handle. What if 2 guys were in the house? She'd have been overpowered.

Take your rainsuit Sunset. It's been a wet summer.

Guinn says Charlie went back to Cielo by himself. NO!
Charlie never did anything by himself.
The flag being put on the couch upside down by Charlie is an interesting claim. An upside down flag is a sign of disrespect. All of the killers and the victims were probably against the Viet Nam war.

A bit off topic but I'm posting this link because "The Lone Ranger" was filmed around Spahn Ranch. Be warned: this is a frightening article.

Thanks, Chris.
MrPoirot, I don't know if this story is true, but I have read that the flag was always upside-down - apparently Voytek put it that way. When Sharon knew her dad was coming over, she would arrange it the correct way because she knew he would be upset to see the flag disrespected.

Being a moocher and a deluded person, Voytek is definitely someone I wouldn't have liked.

Carol, you are correct... there is photo at crimeshots pre-murder and the flag is on the couch upside down...

Thanks, Kimchi. I wasn't sure if what I had read was true.

Sharon had said that she knew it wasn't right to have the flag that way. why didn't she just not allow them to do it? It was her house, not theirs. I know, I know, Sharon was too nice to say something. I would've loved to have seen her dad walk in and see it like that!

Yeah, if Colonel Tate saw it I think that the bon vivant would have gotten a fat lip at the very least.....

Whatever he did, I would've loved to ahve seen it. Chances are, he might've told Sharon to get rid of that riff-raff.

Very true Mr P. This book has a big bibliography in the back of it. This was noted as being taken from "Manson in his Own Words". He misquoted it, as it says, "a companion and I" in the book.
