"If they had known Sharon and she had done something to them that made them mad....then I might could make sense of this and try to understand.
But they didn't even know her. They just killed her."
And it's the same with the other victims. I don't believe they knew any of them.
That's one thing that makes this crime so sensational. They brutally murdered people they didn't even know, just because their hippy cult leader said to.
And then, to add insult to injury...they laughed about it. Laughed all during the trial, laughed afterward.
The Manson family girls who weren't in prison laughed and threatened people for years.
At least Smith & Hickock didn't laugh about killing the Clutters. And BTW...Smith & Hickock were hung by the neck until they were both dead. No one had to go to their parole hearings.
I know there are varied musical tastes on this board, but if there is one song that captures the Manson story for my it is this one, Jesse Cook's "Closer To Madness" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwoySbXEtGo
Okay folks, I've been thru a lot of 70's songs, but I keep coming up with Cat Stevens.
"How Can I Tell You".

I tried to post a question on Matt's blog to Alisa Statman, but so far, no luck.
It was a legitimate question, but so far, so posting.
Listen and learn. I hope he posts my question.
If not............ I'll have to post it here.
If the question wasn't that hard...why not post it?
I have lots of other questions, so I guess I'll post them here if THAT blog won't post them. I thought that was what that blog was for???? Questions to the author.
As far as I know, Thelma & Louise just packed it up. I do know that they both have other blogs they run/follow, so maybe it was just a lot of trouble...I don't know.
I doubt that they will be gone forever, however, I don't know what happened. I wish them both well. I wish they would drop by this blog from time to time so we could communicate.
For a week or so... the Thelma and Louise blog was online... but, with all the threads hidden (or deleted).
I think a blog administrator can 'hide" threads, without actually deleting them. Although... I've never actually looked into that... or tried/used that option.
Their site remained open, but with no threads visible... for a week or so.
Then suddenly... the blog was completely deleted.
I have no further information to offer you, beyond that.
I wish both ladies... Thelma and Louise... the absolute BEST... and, sincerely hope to see them re-surface once again, in some capacity.
I absolutely LOVE the photo of the three sisters playing tetherball!
ReplyDeleteGREAT PHOTO!
I like that photo too. It's evident that the girls liked each other then.
ReplyDeleteWhat's Doris carving in that last picture? Cake??
ReplyDeletePaul has his signature cigar going. LOL.
