Doris Tate with Prudence

  1. Such a cute photo. I'll bet Prudence was such a link to Sharon. I'm glad that Doris took her and raised her.

  2. Was Prudence Sharon's dog? Can't remember...

  3. Bobby I don't know. I'm not sure if the Tates were big Beatles fans. LOL! I'm not even sure when this photo was taken.

  4. I want to take a moment and reply to something that was posted by Venus on Eviliz site:

    >>>Just need to clarify something--there's no way the photos could've been taken on the afternoon of Aug. 9th.>>>

I didn't understand what she meant until I saw this on the Col's site, posted by Vera:

    >>>Statman said: Again, Col Scott’s answer is correct when he wrote: Alisa went with Pedophile Nelson to meet cop Guenther (maybe, she can clarify names) who had fucking stolen things from the crime scene including a roll of film that was the last photos taken the afternoon of the 9th at Cielo. Alisa liberated the photos and resolved to return them to their proper place. She contacted Patti, they met and they hit it off. The only additions I would make is that it was Deemer who harbored the photos.>>>

Now I know what Venus was talking about. Any photos that were taken on August 9th were death photos, not photos of Sharon when she was alive.

I'm kind of scratching my head as to what photos Alisa is referring to.

I see she didn't answer Venus' question.

  5. Having said that...I'm more than halfway thru the book Restless Souls. Some of it is damn good. Other parts are questionable.

I won't go into the questionable parts yet...I'm still reading.

I have a new admiration for Doris Tate, that's for sure. Her insurmountable obstacles are outlined in the book, and I didn't realize to what extent she labored to keep this vermin in prison.

  6. first off the film of the photo's were found in a camera at the tate house, taken into evidence, and developed. when the detective saw they had no evidenciary value they should have been given back to the tate family. instead the detective kept them as a momento. these photo's were taken the week before the murders.

  7. prudence got her name from mia farrow's sister. the song "dear prudence" was also written about prudence farrow. the beatles had traveled to india with farrow sister, but prudence was upset over a romantic break-up and wouldn't come out from her tent, thus they wrote the song about "wanting her to come out and play."

  8. Thanks Beauders. I didn't know any of that about Prudence.

I really can't wait to read YOUR book. LOL.

  9. Beauders beat me to the explanation of Prudence's name. :-)

Yes, Katie, my comment was in response to an earlier comment by the Col. in the thread about the photos that were taken by Alisa (the ones of Sharon, Jay and Voytek). He mentioned that they were taken the afternoon of Aug 9th. The only photos taken of them at that time woud've been crime scene photos.

  10. Hi Venus. I guess he meant photos were "taken from the house" on August 9th, not actually filmed on August 9th.

It was confusing the way it was written. :)

  11. Ok,I never thought of that. That's possible! I thought it seemed like a strange thing to say!

    Unbelievable.

    Sometimes I think that's me.

Ready to go to win, sometimes to go to pasture.

I've got some issues that I have to deal with.

    Long live Secretariat!!

  13. When they did a necropsy on Secretariat, they found that his heart was twice the size of a normal heart. That's why he could withstand the pressure of the race.

No horse has EVER outdone what he did.

    Unfortunately...I'm like him.

    Sigh.

  18. When I was little I never missed an episode of the Monkees. There was one line in an episode that still cracks me up. The scene was in Arabia and a Sheik says something like:

Sheik: Way does the camel sleep with one eye open towards the moon?

Davey: To hold his pants up?

I was six. I'm still laughing. LOL.

  19. LOL

    Hi Matt.

I posted the clip you're referring to, a couple threads back, on the Davy Jones thread.

  20. Katie,

You made my heart swell with Ruby Love. Though The Doors are my alltime favorite group and I play one of their albums (CD's) daily, I have a certain affinity to Cat Stevens, always have.

I think I now have a little crush on you.... :-)

  21. Aw shucks Mr. Dill....*BLUSH*....

I love Cat Stevens too. Reminds me of my carefree 70's days. LOL.

  22. growing to love Doris with the turn of every page. Damn, she had some pins, too!

  23. Yes, Doris had an uphill climb, but she did it, even at the disapproval of her own family.

I really find it ironic, so to speak, that the killers, especially Tex, Charlie, Pat & Susan, killed the people at Cielo Drive without regard for human life, laughed about it at the trials, made little of it after they got the death penalty, and when the death penalty was repealed and they thought they had a chance to get out, they have been thwarted by Sharon's mother since they were first eligible for parole. The mother of the very victim that they "saved for last".

And by her actions...they still are.

She is/was a thorn in their sides. And she always will be.

    Long live Doris Tate!!! :)
