What a f#ckin' racket this shit is! LOL
I mean seriously... they take water... add some bubbles and a teaspoon of lemon or lime, and charge all-outdoors. Which makes me wonder about the whole "bottled water" industry, in-general.
Here's a "Youtube personality" I stumbeld across, a while back. He calls himself "The Fat Aussie Bastard". The guy is hilarious... and often makes a lot of sense.
He's basically a twisted Andy Rooney.
BTW... does anyone else ever get tired of discussing this f#cking case?!
I'm having one of those nights....
"does anyone else ever get tired of discussing this f#cking case?!"
ReplyDeleteMost definitely
LOL
ReplyDeleteYou said it, Cielo!
Screw this crap, let's go out for beer! LOL
I have no idea where Circumstance is... but, something tells me, he's having more fun without this blog world crap!
He's probably somewhere a hell of a lot warmer... drinking fruity drinks with umbrellas in them!
: )
By the way... Great website Cielo!
ReplyDeleteFor those not familiar with Cielo's website...
Please visit:
CIELODRIVE.COM
All kinds of interesting goodies can be viewed there... with a cool "Retro" theme backdrop...
Check it Out!
It's a "Lynyrd Approved" website... LOLOL
Thanks Lynyrd, it has it's moments.
ReplyDeleteLynyrd Skynyrd huh. One of my favorites but can't say I've listened to anything they've released after Street Survivors.
Great website Cielo. I'm going to get on there and browse when I get a chance.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
You haven’t missed anything Cielo…
ReplyDeleteEverything beyond the “Sreet Survivors” album (post plane crash) completely sucks.
The only studio albums worth listening to, are:
Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd
Released: August 13, 1973
2× Platinum
Second Helping
Released: April 15, 1974
2× Platinum
Nuthin' Fancy
Released: March 24, 1975
Platinum
Gimme Back My Bullets
Released: February 2, 1976
Gold
Street Survivors
Released: October 17, 1977
2× Platinum
Then… the dreaded plane crash.
The next album was released 14 years later… in 1991.
It sucked… and from there everything else sucked.
They never earned another certification… not even silver.
That’s what happens when half a band dies…
Also of note… the great “Live” album:
One More from the Road
Released: 1976
3x Platinum
And the Compilation:
Gold & Platinum
Released: 1979
3x Platinum
Those are the only seven albums worth buying, and listening to…
The rest, well… as I said… sucked.
One would be better-off listening to a bit of “Rossington/Collins”, than the rest of the stuff they unfortunately called “Skynyrd”.
What's truly amazing... is how much great music, they were able to pack into just five studio albums.
Everything the world knows and loves about Skynyrd, happened between 1973 and 1977.
That's it!
It's essentially five "greatest hits" albums in a row... featuring "hit after hit".
They certainly came out of the box, guns blazing...
The same can be said of my other favorite band... The Doors!
Everything we know and love about the Doors, was recorded between 1967 and 1971!
Amazing!
One really has to wonder, what would have happened, if the Skynyrd plane crash never happened... and Morrison never died?!
Technically...
ReplyDelete(Before someone "calls" me on it)
I believe The Doors did release a couple albums after Morrison's death as a trio... but c'mon... are they worth mentioning?
...and then there's "American Prayer".
The band played music over some of Morrison's pre-recorded poetry. LOL
I mean...
I can see wanting their "lead singer" back... but to me... that was taking desperation to the next level. LOL
Other Voices and Full Circle. I will admit to owning the albums as a Doors fan, but I will not admit to playing them much in the past forty years.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I have met, and seen in concert, both Manzerak and Krieger, and neither played songs from those two albums in their sets. Go figure...
Thanks Katie
ReplyDeleteLynyrd, I feel the same way about Skynyrd & The Doors, both epic groups in their day. Too bad things ended like they did
i think jim morrison would probably be on 'celebrity rehab'
ReplyDeletei liked the doors but i've gotta say that manzerek comes off as a bit of a pompous jerk with all his 'jim was a shaman'stuff
full credit to densmore for not letting the others ruin the bands legacy in the pursuit of the allmighty dollar.
btw i'm still looking for that artimus pyle stern interview.
got a lot of tapes to go through!
The green box set and Free Bird: The Movie soundtrack are also good. Granted most of the box set is just studio stuff, but there are some good demos and alternative cuts on there.
ReplyDeleteManzarek definitely can come off as a blow hard at times, but I'll give him a pass. He sure likes the word "man"
I always liked Artemis. Was shocked and sad to see he had his kids taken away from him because of sexual abuse.
Wasn't he shot by a farmer while he was trying to get help after the plane crash? If I remember the story correctly the guy saw a bloody Artemis running toward him and shot him because he thought he was a "Manson-type" coming to murder his family

Musically... I loved Morrison.
But...
I don't subscribe to all that "shaman" crapola in general... in regards to Morrison, Manson, or anyone else, for that matter.
It's bullshit.
A man, is a man... period... and they all put their pants on, one leg at a time.
Shaman my ass... LOL
As for Manzarek... I agree.
He IS the creepiest freak out there... what with the way he hunches over that keyboard, like a mad scientist.
He's a strange bird, no doubt...
I also hate his interviews.
But...
I have to give him MAD props, as a musician however...
Without him... the band had a drummer and a lead guitarist, only.
Manzarek... in reality... WAS the musical backing track, to the Doors music.
Manzarek literally filled the role of a rhythm guitarist with his right hand... playing insane chords... and literally filled the role of a bassist with his left hand... playing insane bass lines.
Densmore banged the drums... and Robby played scales over the top... but, (from a musician's standpoint) Manzarek was the song.
Love him, or hate him... he was something of a "one man band"... and without him... The Doors simply wouldn't have existed in their known form.
Bottom line:
You'd have to bring-in both... a rhythm guitarist... AND a bassist, to fill Manzerek's shoes.
Manzerek would have been the hardest member to replace... barring Morrison.
His contributions are undeniable.
Complete freak... but talented.

"Once the plane had been downed into the swamp, Pyle knew that if help didn't come they would probably all die.
"My friends were bleeding and dying. I didn't think about it, I just took off running"
... Artimus Pyle
Pyle had numerous wounds from the crash including broken ribs as he ran for help. It is important to remember his bravery - he had to negotiate two to three feet of swamp water, infested with snakes and alligators in pitch darkness. Eventually, Artimus spotted a farmhouse in the distance, and made for it. The farmer, Johnny Mote, saw a bloodied Pyle charging towards him, looking like Charles Manson. Unsurprisingly, Mote assumed himself to be under attack, and so he shot Pyle in the shoulder. It wasn't until Pyle could say the words "plane crash" that Mote began to realise what had happened".
Joe Paterno died today. Another sad day for Penn State.
ReplyDeleteNew England over Baltimore 16 to 10 in the 3rd quarter.
ReplyDeleteMattP and Leary...
ReplyDeletePatriots WIN 23-20!
WE'RE SUPER BOWL BOUND!
Respect to the Ravens, for a well played game.
That missed field goal, wasn't exactly 1986 Red Sox "Bill Buckner" material, LOL... but it was pretty ugly though...
ReplyDeleteTough to be a Ravens fan, right now...
i was watching the bruins game and flipping to the patriots on station breaks.
ReplyDeletethe pats were lucky today, they better bring their a game in the super bowl.
odd to see steven tyler on the field after the game,i know he sang the anthem but it was still weird to see him in the background during the post game interviews.
bill buckner..............you had to bring him up!
I know... I know...
ReplyDeleteThe name Bill Buckner, still brings back a sense of dull pain, whenever his name is mentioned... even after all these years.
Sorry dude... LOL
I'm honestly not sure ANY sporting blunder (past or present)... will ever equate exactly... in any true sense... to the famous... well... I won't say the name again...
Shame on Buckner. As a Dodgers fan (Marlins too), my memory of Buckner was a consistent .300 hitter with bad ankles who played LF early in his career. He'd hit #2 for us and was a damn good #2 hitter as he made contact and often for hits. Shame how one play can define someone's career. It didn't and won't define him for me.
ReplyDeleteBruins AND Patriots?!
ReplyDeleteTwo titles... wouldn't THAT be the bomb!
I gotta wonder how many times 3 titles have been won, by the same area?
Has 4 ever been done??
I don't think so...
I believe 3... but never all 4...
GO 49'rs...!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Stormsurge.
ReplyDeleteBill Buckner was a very solid player, and it really IS a shame... that he'll be defined forever by that one error, in our region.
He was a big reason, that the Red Sox ever made it to that World Series, in the first place...
At face value, you're 100% correct... and I agree with you there...
Thing is...
As a Red Sox fan, it was an impossible pill to swallow, after not winning for SO many years.
I watched as the Red Sox lost to the Cincinnati Reds in 1975... IN GAME 7!
That whole "curse of the bambino" crap had been rubbed in our face for SO long... it was unbearable... and furthermore... we had the '86 series won!
After 1986... we went on... and suffered with no championship (and the "bambino" crap) for MANY more painful years.
To illustrate Stormsurge... and this is NO exaggeration:
My next door neighbor, was born in 1922 and died in 2002.
He lived 80 years... and NEVER saw the Red Sox win a single World Series... EVER!
He was born 4 years AFTER the 1918 win... and died 2 years before the 2004 win!
Can you imagine being a fan your ENTIRE LIFE... and NEVER experiencing ONE title?
... and then, there's the whole concept of losing to any New York team. LOL
Bottom line:
We lost it all... based on an error... only a "little leaguer" could make...
Is the attitude fair to Buckner?
Probably not... you're right.
Buckner was in fact... in every other regard... a decent player.
Unfortunately Stormsurge... it's just the way, it is.
It's only in the last few years... since our championship wins, that some local sports-casters and fans, have joked about the subject...
...and even then, it's a "sticky subject".
I fear, I may have made MattP lose his supper... LOLOL
This has nothing to do with Bill Buckner, the BoSox or Tom ( Tuck Rule) Brady and those goddamn Pats. Going back to what you guys were saying about the Doors and Skynyrd.
ReplyDeleteGuns N' Roses is another band that can be lumped in to that category minus a tragedy. They released all their great stuff between 87-91. 19993's Spaghetti Incident was garbage. Hell the're even getting inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame on a first ballot. Not many other bands have done that.
Another great example:
ReplyDeleteAmazingly, Jimi Hendrix recorded all of his noteworthy music between 1967-1970... on just four albums.
The rest of his huge catalog, is comprised of old recordings they drudged-up, and released after his death (posthumously)...
I highly doubt, most (if any) of that posthumous stuff would have been released by Hendrix himself... had he lived-on... and continued recording.
It was all just "cutting room floor" clippings, that probably would have been better-off not released.
Personally... I don't think it was ever Jimi's intention to release those sessions.
But of course... the world just can't get enough... and when there's a dollar to be made...

Hi Bing.
I've never been a huge G-N-R fan.
I like probably five of their songs.
But, having said that...
They WERE the Best at executing their style of music... in their given period in history.
They did their thing... and they did it well.
But most importantly (historically, and for them)... they were the only one's doing "it" at that level... at that time.
They gave the world straight forward Rock... in a time... when straight forward rock, was desperately needed... and desperately rare.
Late 80's/early 90's... was the reign of MTV... hair bands... and emerging grunge...
Guns N Roses was a surge of unadulterated Rock... in a time, when unadulterated Rock was dead.
They made their mark, in a time when many kids may have missed-out on real "ROCK" altogether... without Guns-N-Roses on the airwaves constantly.
(Not to mention all the time they commanded on MTV)
They did much for Rock-N-Roll... in a time when Rock-n-Roll really needed it.
Kudos to them, for that!
G-N-R exerted much influence on musical history, in a very condensed time... and for that alone... I'd vote in favor of inducting G-N-R into the "Hall", regardless of my own musical preference(s).
As an aside:
It seems to me... that the "Hall" has been watering things down... in terms of their "inductees", in recent years.
But, that's a different subject... and I digress...
i don't blame buckner as much as the manager who left him in.
ReplyDeleteand to quote the sex pistols the rock and roll hall of fame is a 'piss stain'
there should be no such thing.
thats just my opinion and i'm sure many would disagree with me.
MattP said:
ReplyDelete>>>>"and to quote the sex pistols the rock and roll hall of fame is a 'piss stain'

In spirit, and in theory... I agree... and here's why:
First off... music is an art... and inherently subjective... not objective.
Like "beauty"... it can't be quantified to everyone's agreement, or satisfaction.
It simply can't.
As I said... "subjective".
Secondly...
Where does one "draw the line", as it were?
There are performers who are clearly "deserving" by most people's standards.
Rolling Stones...
Frank Zappa...
But... what about all those "in-betweenies" as Ian Dury would say? LOL
Do you let them slide-in, during slow years, with few decent candidates... just to have a ceremony?
If/ when you open the "flood gates" (as they have at times in recent years)... isn't it a disservice to the prestige of the "Hall", and past inductees?
And again... who can make these decisions to everyone's satisfaction?
rock and roll isnt about being accepted into some exclusive club filled with business suits at 25 grand a table.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to argue with that logic Matt!
ReplyDeleteHere's Dwight Yoakum and Buck Owens singin' the Streets of Bakersfield.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5P6zdlPJ34
I love the way Dwight with his little tight ass turns around.
ReplyDeleteRRRRUUHHHHHRRRAAAHHH....YEAH!!!!
HA HA HA.
Jim Morrison, Bill Buckner, the Saint and Tom Brady all discussed in the same thread. Only at Lynyrd's. That's why this is my favorite bar.
ReplyDeleteKraft should be erecting a statue of Sterling Moore at Gilette this morning. His knocking the ball out of Evan's hands and saving the touchdown has to be in top five all-time Pats plays.
I was away all weekend, but I do so hope Jenny returns. Great stuff.
I'm watching the original Straw Dogs movie made in 1971.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I'm wondering why Dustin Hoffman made this flick. He was going strong after The Graduate in 1968 and Midnight Cowboy in 1969. Then he joins this crappola.
Susan George, a beautiful talented English starlet is his co-star.
I can't help but wonder, if Sharon had lived, if she wouldn't have been cast in this train wreck, especially if Roman had directed it instead of Sam Peckinpah.
Hmmmm....??
Gee, Katie, I really like that movie.
ReplyDeleteHi Starship.
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe I should give it another chance..... LOL!
Hi Dickhead. I see you joined the blog. Welcome!! :)
ReplyDeleteHey guys, remember Giovanni Di Stefano, who took up the torch for Charlie to get a new trial almost a year ago?
ReplyDeleteI wonder what happened to him.
Cielo, I was on your site today poking around and found something I'd read years ago, but refreshed my memory
People love to say that Charlie didn't get a fair trial. But when he was allowed to represent himself, he made such stupid demands that it was made into some kind of joke.
Parts of Charlie's Motion from Cielodrive.com:
>>>Judge Keene opened the hearing on Manson’s request for several things – including bail — by asking the bearded cult leader to read from the 17-page legal motion, asking if he had, indeed, read it at all.
“Certainly,” Manson replied. “These are all basically my ideas — but not my words.
The motion, among other things, asked that the district attorney be “incarcerated” the same as Manson “to let him look through my eyes” and that he (Manson) be allowed to travel to “anyplace I deem fit in preparation of my own defense.” >>>
So Charlie wanted bail (for himself, not the others), wanted Bugliosi to be incarcerated and permission for him to travel anyplace he wanted.
It just doesn't get any better than this!!!
Yeah, Charlie didn't get a fair trial.
HA HA HA HA.
BTW, cielodrive.com is a great source of ino. Check it out.
Ooops...."great source of info". HA HA.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Judge Keene reflected back to Charlie.....or the other way around. HA HA HA.
ReplyDeleteWell Casey Anthony tried to fool all of you to make you think she didn't kill her child.
ReplyDeleteBut she made fooolllls out of all of you who believed her. This includes the Pinellas County fuckihg stupid jury. The fuckers who were on the jury that tried that fucking bitch.
HAHAHAH.
True dat!!! HA HA
Those fuckers were just trying to get home to do their "crack" and their trailer trash.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't care about Caylee.
They were tired of being in Orlando and didn't give a shit about Caylee. Or how she died.
Or how the duct tape was wrapped around her head. And the heart sticker was on her duct tape.
All those fuckers cared about was getting back to their crack.
Those fuckers will die in hell.
Along with Casey.
Kiss their asses goodbye...HA HA HA.
I know that Casey fired her "skin" Jose Baez.
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't getting her the "deals" she wanted with the lucrative money.
I forecasted this back in July of 2011. I knew she would boot these fuckers.
She's a sick mother fucker.
She wont live another year.
I'll make a forecast
She'll kill herself...not because of Caylee...but because she's tired of not being cute.
HA HA HA.
Burn in hell cunt.!!!
Katie, I really wish you'd stop hiding your true feelings about Caeey. Please be honest for a change!!!! LOLOL
ReplyDeleteStop hiding your true feelings about Casey, not Caeey. Dangblasted typo.
ReplyDelete
