Squeaky, Sandy and Cappy!!
We Now Have A New URL Address: LSB3.COM
CAUTION: According to Google, the new URL address (LSB3.COM) will NOT work for approximately 3 days, during the set-up period. Hang in there folks... there's going to be a few "glitches" for a while. For one, the main page doesn't seem to "re-fresh" correctly. Hopefully, everything will be smooth by monday the latest. The old URL (you're currently using)... lynyrd-skynyrds-manson-family-forum.blogspot.com... whew!... according to Google... will continue working "forever". Bottom line: Both URL addresses, should work fine... so, if the "old one" is already "bookmarked" in your 'favorites"... you shouldn't have to do anything... (again, according to Google). Thanks for your patience.

Looking at how lovely these young girls are (in these photos), it's very difficult to fathom, how things ended-up so completely ugly.
Lynn is an absolute peach in these photos.
It really makes you wonder, when exactly, they completely lost their minds... especially Sandy and Squeaky.
Funny how two of the most adorable, became the most whacked-out.
... and they never recovered.
i think in some weird way not being involved in the t/l killings and trials made them feel like they had something to prove in terms of being perceived as important to manson and the family.
kind of like a kid whos being ignored acts out to get noticed(or loved)by his family or in this case the media and the public at large.
'look at me i'm important too'
i think that deep down thats why she shot at president ford.
on the other hand they might just be nuts.
crazy is as crazy does.
Who is the guy with the beard and paisley shirt?
I'm 96% sure, that's "Mark Ross".
He's the guy who was found in "contempt of court" along with Sandy and Gypsy.
They were all sentenced to five days in county jail... for "loud outbursts", when the judge revoked Manson's right to defend himself... the judge, calling Manson "indigent".
At any rate... almost certain that's Mark Ross.
Hey Matt!

I think you're correct on both counts.
Crazy... there's elements of that surely.
But more importantly, I think in Squeaky's mind, she was demonstrating "loyalty", with the whole Ford thing.
I also think there was some type of, "revitalization" mindset for her too.
By then, the "family" had disbanded, and Squeaky and Sandy were basically alone, sending-out "threat mail". LOL
I think in a sense, it was a desperation move, to maybe "jumpstart" "the good ol' days" somehow.
Either way... it was her way of "contributing... "fitting-in"... and maybe an attempt to re-form the old "group comraderie".
Instead, she suffered in jail for decades... and, that's about it.
There's interview footage, from shortly after her "escape".
I find it interesting... that Squeaky states point blank:
"After the experience (being captured), I realized that I need Manson... much more, than Manson needs me".
Funny how that point seems obvious, to everyone but her.
You've got to wonder, how long Manson would have hung around "pining" after Squeaky and Sandy, had he never been convicted for murder, himself.
Personally... I think he would have given them two visits, and forgot them completely.
Heck... every visitor is a "great friend", when you're the one behind bars.
It's easy to be loyal.
Had Manson been free all these years... and the shoes been reversed... I highly doubt he would have been half as loyal to Lynn and Sandy.
He would have been "adios"... like "a boxcar, and a jug o' wine"!! LOLOL
..."with a hooker, down in Big Sur"! hahaha
He might have sent them, the occasional hand-woven spider. : )
Sandra, Lynnette, Nancy and Gypsy really did believe, and live, the 60s revolutionary ideal.
I sometimes wonder, if and how much, our society would've changed, had the people who truly had revolutionary ideas and who practiced what they preached, had not been jailed, or had not sold out.
That, and if they'd had better ways of doing things, when the old ways were overthrown.
What I see as the big problem of the sixties, is the revolutionaries helped to get rid of outmoded things, like conventional marriage, and racism, and misogyny, and monotheism, and the draft, and hairspray... but nothing was really considered to replace the outmoded, ineffectual social mores.
For example, now women can work outside the home, have an education and careers, and get out of abusive relationships. But now there are so many one-parent families, kids on the dole, absent fathers. Breaking down the conventional marriage, where the man's word was law, he could beat his wife without repercussion, abuse his kids... getting rid of that was a good thing. But there isn't anything put in effect to replace the conventional marriage model.
So I wonder, if these revolutionaries had finished what they started, would society have been better off?
Bobby there was nothing wrong with the men who served in World War II. It was the generation after that decided they were too big for their britches.
The hippies decided that being reponsible was "square" and they didn't want to bother with it. It was easier just to "drop out", live off the government and take drugs.
The same government that they hated because they drafted them to Vietnam.
In the 40's the men and women were happy to serve their country in World War II, but by the 60's Vietnam, the lazy, indolents that were of age decided that they shouldn't have to do anything they didn't want to.

The Manson Family was jailed because they committed murder. That's against the law.
Bobby, I don't know if it was the men, per se, or if it was these false expectations created by the media in the first generation to grow up with TV.
Having the active-enzyme lemon-freshened house was not possible for real women. Men expecting that were bound to be disappointed.
Kids were told a lot of lies... remember the nuclear drills in the schools, "duck and cover"? And that certain products were good for us, such as wonder bread, cigarettes, thalidomide?
The kids in the sixties broke down those stereotypes and expectations, those false notions.
Trouble is, they didn't replace it with anything of value.
Katie, a lot of revolutionaries were jailed who didn't do a darn thing. Wasn't there a Black Panther who was exhonerated? And more than a few revolutionaries were assassinated.
Also, WWII was a righteous war against a real enemy. VietNam was a fallacious war, based on the pretense that communism would take over Asia, and then use it as a jumping off point to take over the USA. Basically, the was only fought to make Dow Chemical rich.
meet the new boss
same as the old boss
AC....I'm really tired of these subjects.
The only answer I have for you is this, regarding Charlie:
"One two, Charlie's coming for you."
"Three four, better shut the door".
"Five, six grab your crucifix".
"Seven eight, better stay up late."
"Nine, ten, never sleep again."
Juxtapose Charlie. WOW!!! It's not hard to do. LOL.

i say.....im not looking to make enemies here but im always open for a good debate...
it's funny how anyone with ideals can easily be just cast aside and insulted as being lazy or whatever. There was plenty of spoiled brat wanna be hippies doing what you claim but also just as many that maybe didnt want to fight in a war that many saw as UNJUST. The people that were "happy" to fight in ww2 had a different mindset seeing our own country come under attack. These same people you speak of were content to sit by as genocide occured all over Europe. But hey thats not our problem. Minorities saw there fathers go fight ww2 and come back and not even have decent civil rights. Remember that whole thing? The civil rights movement? just lazy silly minorities i guess huh? Women that fought for their equal right? Lazy broads that shouldve just stayed in the kitchen and shut up huh? gay people, commies, etc. All should just shut up, take their abuse and do as their government tells them. This country was founded on discontent!
I happen to dislike all but the original hippies. The people who took their ideals and held strong to them at the risk of getting beat up, arrested, and even shot. The ones who just cared about smoking pot and banging each others girlfirnds and boyfriends cheapened and ruined what im sure at one time was an amazing thing.
Also im curious how they were living off the government? im not being sarcastic im serious. Most either lived in communes, or paid rent (even if there were like 20 people per room) and im sure many squatted. a lot were fed by groups like the diggers, or Hare Krsnas, or such. many were students who were more likely living off their parents or were going to have to pay off their student loans eventually.
Typo's and all,
Andy
Hi Andy. I wish you would post on the more current threads. Most people won't see your comments way back here. You're welcome to come to the current thread and make your observations.
I can't think of any "just" war. All wars are unjust. You're right, America was trying to stay out of WWII until we were bombed by Japan. And maybe that makes it different, I don't know. All I know is that if everybody has the right to decide if they should serve in a war or not, we wouldn't have any military protection, which would be bad.
The only hippies I know of are the Manson people. I grew up in a small west Texas town that didn't harbor people like that.
The Manson Family didn't work, took drugs, stole cars & credit cards, mooched off different people who actually worked and went to free government clinics to take care of rotten teeth and VD.
I call that living off the world they hated.
You're welcome to comment any time you want about anything you want. People might not agree with you...but so what? We can still debate..right? :)
